What the hell did I plant here?

Pruned many of the herbs yesterday. The rosemary survived, which makes me hopeful. I seem to be especially gifted at killing rosemary bushes. Other herbs pruned:

*sage
*lemon thyme
*silver thyme

Wow... that's it? I was sure there was more.

I also spent a fair amount of time in the hammock swing. I even walked the dog and then put him on my lap (a feat--he's a magical norwegian elkhound who can increase his density at will) and we swung together for a little while. He seemed to enjoy it, after the initial anxiety.

I am starting to be concerned about having fresh lettuce and should probably start those seeds soon.

In other news, I am obsessed with rvs and small space living. I am seriously contemplating a Little Guy Teardrop Trailer... well, seriously contemplating in the same way that I am seriously contemplating a greenhouse, that is "Damn! If I ever have the money to do this in the future, I should do this!!!"

If any of the above things make you drool, check out:

Ok, it's working! Woo! :)

This is going to be my garden blog, full of gardeny goodness and amusing mishaps involving plants.

Right now, what's up in the garden:
* Trilliums (more than last year!)--already up and unfurling
* Camassia is just coming up
* Little hostas on the side of the house are poking up their green fingers
* Playboy rose and Amy Vanderbilt rose have little red leaves unfurling
* Lavenders have little green sprouts on the bottoms
* Monardas are getting green and bushy
* Remaining ugly orange lilies are sprouting
* Blueberry has lots of buds
* Blackberry has little leaves unfurling near the base
* Oregano is out and looking great!
* Wintergreen appears to be still alive! Yeah!!!
* Spearmint is greening!

New development in weediness:
* new small white-flowered weed proliferating EVERYWHERE which I've never noticed before. My old friends Placeholder Weed (Asiatic Daylily) and Gill-over-the-ground are somewhat absent.

Things I just did:
*pruned the apple trees and the roses
*ripped up a bunch of ivy

Things I want to do:
* rip up more ivy
* cut down the little Norway maple, the pignut hickory and all the weird little opportunistic trees in the side area and put in nice happy native stuff
* get someone who knows how to build a little retaining wall to do so (and get the borough to approve it!)

Also... I desperately want a greenhouse!!!! I want it to be a recycled leanto greenhouse and I will be collecting and hoarding unwanted storm windows and doors....

Testing 1... 2... 3...

Curious to see if this actually works. Well... let's have a go. *braces for impact of 404 page*
